Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician for Extrusion will be responsible for ensuring that our extruded medical tubes meet all quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the extrusion process, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections and tests on extruded products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Monitor the extrusion process for adherence to established parameters, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective actions.
Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken, maintaining accurate records for quality assurance.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, standards, and best practices specific to extrusion.
Perform incoming inspections of raw materials and components to ensure they meet quality criteria before production.
Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as required.
Support training initiatives for production staff on quality standards and practices.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance) or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in quality control, particularly in extrusion processes, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA requirements) and quality management systems.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using measurement and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, durometers).
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
May involve standing for extended periods and lifting materials as needed.
